Irouléguy is one of the smaller vineyards of France : 240 hectares of vineyards are planted on mainly four towns : Saint Etienne de Baigorry, Irouléguy, Ispoure and Ascarat. The geographical area of naming concerns 15 towns situated around St Jean Pied de Port and St Etienne de Baigorry.
Since 1970, the vineyard benefits from an AOC ( protected designation of Origin ). The production amounts on average to 8000 hectoliters a year.
The set is easily accessible, otherwise by car, at least on foot thanks to a developed enough network of paths.
Two thirds of the surface are outside planted in terrace.
Irouléguy is a vineyard of mountain, spectacular, difficult to work, but with wonderful landscapes.
The area limited by the vineyard is also compensated with the variety of points of view and the variety of the possible strolls.
